About Bassam Mahfouz
Your Labour candidate for Ealing Central & ActonBassam has grown up and lived in the borough of Ealing since the age of four. Education is important to Bassam who attended school locally at Gunnersbury RC High School in Northfields and currently serves as Chair of Governors at the borough's school for children with special educational needs. As Ealing Labour's Transport, Environment & Climate Change Spokesman he has brought about Labour's new position on the tram (anti-tram, pro-public transport solution to congestion problems of west London), has pushed for increases in recycling and wants more action to tackle climate change locally. As a councillor he has shown that is committed to working alongside local residents and together making a difference for the better. Bassam is engaged to Izabela who also grew up in Ealing and he relaxes by reading, going to the gym or going for a drink with friends. He is an avid Liverpool supporter and enjoys going to local events such as the Ealing Jazz Festival. In 2005 he played a character called "Carlos" in a short movie named "Bang! Bang!".
